God damn it!

After reading the handbook put out by the Graduate Employees Union, it turns out I was working at the wrong rate of pay all last year! Because I got an MA before coming here, I should have been at level 2, which would have gotten me $200 a month more than I was getting! I’ve written a letter to the secretary that handles the financial stuff in the department, and I am hoping to get both compensation for last year, and to be bumped up to level three for this year. I am so mad about this that I want to yell and scream. They have my CV and application, so they should know I should have been level two. God damn it! That is such crap! On one hand, I should have scrutinized the Union materials as soon as I came here, but on the other hand, they should be careful to pay people at the proper level. I am really angry!
