I was a friend of the late Jim Hurd. He referred me to your site and I've been following your blog for a while now. I'm a huge fan of Dover Thrift Editions. The bindings are not as sturdy and the paper is slightly lower quality but as books for reading they can't be beat. If there are books that I particularly like, I'll buy Dover Thrift editions to give away to friends. Janis Starcs of Caveat Emptor in Bloomington turned me onto Dover many years ago. You should send off for the Dover Catalog. It's really a treat.
