My computer conked out.

My computer seems to be having the same problem as it had before Curtis gave it to me — it won’t really come on, and as soon as I press the on button the fan starts running frantically.¬† I’ll take it to the repairman, but unfortunately the May Day holiday week starts tonight, so it may be a while before I get it back.¬†

So now I’m reduced to posting from the local net bar, sitting next to a guy who feels compelled to scream across the room while playing an online basketball game.

    what’s the problem again?Specify.Seems to be sth with the fan.

    It’s a problem of the thermostat. The computer thinks it’s too hot, so it won’t turn on. It had this problem before, and I got the thermostat replaced.

    Everything was okay until I defragmented the disc. It doesn’t seem likely, but I do wonder if that had something to do with the problem coming back.
