Well, unfortunately, Christianity and meanness seem to go hand in hand in the United States.
In a related but equally odd story, this old woman I knew who grew up in a convent school (a Catholic school for girls) said one of her teachers was a nun who used to go into trances and predict that “the yellow race would rule the earth.”
