I think I should start a category called “The US government is dumb” for all the stories I have like this.¬†

D’oh!¬†number one:¬† During Hu Jin Tao’s visit, the Chinese national anthem was introduced as the anthem of the Republic of China (which usually means Taiwan) rather than the anthem of the People’s Republic of China.¬† At least they didn’t actually PLAY the Taiwanese anthem!¬† That would have been a REAL embarrassment.

D’oh! number two:¬† It turns out the woman who heckled Hu Jin Tao about¬† Falun gong had been issued a temporary press pass, and that’s how she got in.¬† Her media organization?¬† A Falun gong-affiliated newpaper.¬† The Epoch Times, perhaps?¬† Shouldn’t somebody have checked out what organization she belonged to before issuing the pass?
